Police raid suspected Kidnappers dens, apprehend 32, recover exhibits

THIRTY-Two suspects were arrested Wednesday night by Operatives of the FCT Police Command during a coordinated raid exercise at some identified black spots and suspected criminal hideouts at Apo by Tarabora, Angwa Tiv by Zone E extension and fish market, Apo resettlement, Abuja

The gallant policemen during the raid at the points of hibernation to scavengers (Baban Bola), other hoodlums, also recovered exhibits.

SP Josephine Adeh, Police Spokesperson in a statement said the suspects which included two females were arrested for various offences, ranging from peddling of illicit substances to erection of illegal structures and shanties. 

 According to her, "The security operatives dismantled the shanties and illegal structures erected by the suspects, while exhibits such as mobile phones reasonably suspected to have been stolen from unsuspecting residents, dried leaves suspected to be marijuana (Cannabis sativa), and housebreaking tools were recovered from them.

"All apprehended suspects will be screened, while those found culpable will be profiled and arraigned in court to deter other intending criminals from turning these places into a brewing ground for criminals.

"While the investigation is still ongoing, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth Igweh assures residents of his commitment to flush out criminals from FCT and ensure the safety of all and sundry. 

"He also urges residents to be vigilant and take advantage of the police emergency lines to report suspicious activities through: 08032003913, 08028940883, 08061581938, and 07057337653. PCB: 09022222352, CRU: 08107314192." The statement added.
